About the Role
As a Maintenance and Custodial Worker, you will
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance and repairs to all assets and any other related equipment
• Perform minor repairs, assembly and installations as directed
• Perform general maintenance including Landscaping, i.e., sweeping, shoveling, salting, garbage removal, snow clearing, grass cutting, etc.
• Maintain operator logs, checklists, and inspections
• Able to move and lift equipment and supplies up to 30lbs/13kg, setup/teardown tables and chairs for ministry events
• Carpentry and painting
• Respond to all emergencies such as fire, elevator, flood, lack of heat, power failure and other such problems that could be deemed an emergency
• Capable of operating truck and tractor for snow clearing activities
• Execute all day-to-day cleaning and sanitization tasks throughout the church building, creating a safe and comfortable experience for staff, attendees, and community
• Provide cleaning services independently and/or as part of a team
• Ensure garbage and recycling bins are thrown out and replaced
• Cleaning and disinfecting washrooms and restocking paper towels and toilet paper
• Complete a cleaning checklist
• Quickly address any unforeseen cleaning needs that arise throughout the course of regular operations and ministry events.
• Support with routine inspection and maintenance activities while addressing deficiencies when possible
• Perform other duties as required
What Will Set You Apart?
• Valid driver's license
• Clear drivers abstract required
• Experience in similar working environments and job roles
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
Requirements
Successful candidates are service-oriented, self-directed, and able to work within a fast-paced team environment and always provide excellent maintenance/custodial service.
The Maintenance role is full time (5 Shifts, 40 hours a week) regular day time, evenings, and weekend shifts.
